Availability
Airport fleets are normally larger but given enough notice car hire companies can bring in an automatic from another destination. So if it is a last minute booking you may have to pick up at the Airport.

Delivery
With a large number of car hire suppliers you can request a delivery to a hotel but only from a down town location. As stated though deliveries are not available with all suppliers and locations and is strictly on request.

Comfort
Airport locations can be incredibly busy especially during peak season in your chosen destination. With a down town location the next day you will be refreshed from the flight and the office should be considerably quieter.

Cost
Dependant really on how it will cost to get you from the airport to your chosen destination and back to a rental office the next day. Car Hire is a relatively cheap commodity but there will be an additional day rental if you pick up at the airport.
