US Weather Watch

Hurricane Gustav

The warm temperant weather found across Europe today is a long way from Hurricane Gustav that has forced over 2million people to evacuate New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. I am sure we all remember the devistation cause by Hurricane Katrina so I hope to have some more details concerning aid options for the region soon.

A storm surge of up to 10 feet is expected to hit the Gulf Coast stretching the repaired breaches and defenses. At 1am this morning the storm was 170 miles south east for New Orleans but winds over the airport hit 50 miles an hour forcing cancellation of flights even at this early stage.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida is also watching Tropical Storm Hanna which is also heading towards the south east of the US.
